Master in Applied Cultural Analysis
I am currently working on my Master's in Applied Cultural Analysis. My education focuses on using cultural theory with ethnography (focusing on society through the point of view of the subject) to address problems in a business context. Ethnography deals with qualitative methods, but I use other skills as well. I have worked on projects for an architecture firm, studied a food market, and currently am working with a humanitarian organization. For all of these, I have operated much like a consultant after being tasked with a problem, challenge or question. I loved the different angle and challenge each and focus each brought. By focusing on and understanding the issue from the people/user prospective, I could give each of these very different clients information tailored to their problem.
As far as the industry or topic for my internship (with the ideal situation of this turning into my thesis material) or thesis, my personal and professional interests cover food, environmental projects/environmental development, military/defense, expats/internationals, multiculturalism, academia, innovation, consulting and the entertainment sector. However, I am opening to interesting projects that spark my interest and curiosity.
What is your challenge? Let's see if I can help.
